We’re incredibly proud to be ranked #3 in LinkedIn’s Top Startups in Nigeria for 2022!

Launched for the first time ever in Nigeria, LinkedIn’s Top Startups List features the Top 10 emerging companies where Nigerians want to work now, profiling leading startups that have continued to attract investment, employees and widespread attention over the last year.

With robust analysis taken on LinkedIn’s 3.9mn members across Nigeria, the list focuses on four key criteria in order to determine a red-hot startup:

  • Major growth in the company’s headcount
  • Strong engagement with the company on LinkedIn
  • High interest in the company’s posted jobs
  • An enviable ability to attract top talent

With this in mind, it’s a huge honour to be featured as part of this year’s edition and a massive recognition of some of the major company milestones we’ve hit throughout 2022:

  • In March 2022, the platform recorded one of the largest funding rounds within the African startup ecosystem with the close of its $105mn Series A2 Round. This brought Moove’s total funding to-date to over $200mn despite launching just over two years ago.

  • Earlier this year, Moove became the first company to qualify for both the British International Investment’s BOLD and 2X qualifications. The BOLD (Black Ownership and Leadership Development) initiative is focused on increasing access to capital for black-owned and led businesses and the 2X initiative promotes gender-smart investing by backing companies that advance the opportunities for women via quality employment, business leadership, access to finance and products or services.

  • Having first launched in Lagos, Nigeria, Moove now operates in 13 cities across three continents. In July, we launched in 3 new markets in India SA, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore as part of our APAC expansion and in August, we launched a 100% EV fleet in London as its entry into Europe.

  • In September, 2022, Moove was awarded the IFC’s Annual Corporate Award as one of the top 20 most impactful and transformational projects applying an innovative and scalable solution towards a global problem.

As the Moove journey expands on an international scale, we will always proudly remember our heritage as a company born to solve a problem in Lagos, which makes our inclusion in the Nigerian edition of LinkedIn’s Top Startup List even more significant.

As our first location and Africa’s largest economy, Nigeria is one of our most important markets, which is why we expanded into our second city in the country, Ibadan, earlier this year and also secured $20mn financing from British International Investment (BII) in June 2022 to scale our revenue based-financing model across the country.

We continue to strive for our goals on firstly, 100% Financial Inclusion, secondly, Gender Equality by targeting 50% of financed vehicles for women and lastly, Environmental Impact by ensuring at least 60% of the vehicles financed are EVs or hybrid vehicles.

As we grow globally, we are on the lookout for ever more driven & talented people to become a part of our growing team so if you’re interested in joining the latest phase of our mission to democratise vehicle ownership across the globe, check out our latest openings here.

Lastly, thank you to all of our #Moovers everywhere, whose hard work and dedication made this achievement possible!
